Golfer’s front nine was so good the Web.com Tour sent out tweet verifying his scores

From time to time, weekend hackers take joy in the rare moments when the world’s best golfers look like us. Take Jordan Spieth missing a putt of less than a foot on Friday. No seriously.

But tour pros aren’t anything like us on the golf course. Even tour pros you’ve probably never heard of. Take Michael Arnaud. The 36-year-old has been a pro since 2004, but has only teed it up once ever on the PGA Tour and had only made one start on the Web.com Tour this season. Then Friday happened.

Arnaud’s front nine at the BMW Charity Pro-Am was so absurd that the Web.com Tour sent out this following tweet confirming his scores had been verified:

That’s more blue than a Smurfs convention. And Arnaud wasn’t finished. He added another birdie at the par-4 7th to get to NINE UNDER THRU SEVEN HOLES. Forget about being on “59 watch,” this guy was trying to shoot 54 like I used to on Tiger Woods Golf for Playstation.

Arnaud finally made a par on No. 8 and then bogeyed the par-3 ninth. Still, his 27(!) tied the Web.com Tour nine-hole scoring record. Pros are not just like us.
