Billy Ray Brown, Chad Campbell headline Texas Golf Hall of Fame class

Billy Ray Brown and Chad Campbell, who both claimed their biggest pro wins in the Lone Star State, headlined the latest inductees in the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. Brown, who still lives in Missouri City, was honored in the amateur class. A native of Andrews, Campbell was selected in the professional class.

They were joined by TV personality Bill Macatee, instructor Bill Moretti and Austin Country Club in a ceremony on Monday night at San Antonio Country Club. Their names are etched on a granite marker at the Texas Golf Walk of Fame at Brackenridge Park Golf Course.

Brown, who played on three NCAA championship teams at the University of Houston and won the individual championship in 1982 as a freshman, won three times on the PGA Tour. His second tour win came at the 1992 Byron Nelson in Irving. Brown, who also won two Southwest Conference individual titles and was a four-time All-American after starring at Dulles High School, is a current on-course reporter for the Golf Channel.

A four-time winner on the PGA Tour, Campbell won the 2003 Tour Championship at Champions Golf Club.
