Golf Channel’s David Feherty brings round of stories, comedy to Stamford

For the past 20 years, David Feherty has crisscrossed the world, observing and analyzing the sport that gave him his start — professional golf. Since 2014, he has added a bit more travel to his itinerary. Each year, he hits the road to meet fans away from the course.

This week, Feherty, 60, arrives in Stamford for his “Wandering Around on His Own” tour. A blend of jokes, storytelling, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and poignant moments about his life, which is a mix of success and tragedy.

A professional golfer from Ireland who competed on the European and PGA tours, he found success in the late ’80s and early ’90s before leaving the sport for broadcasting on CBS. In the years since, he has become a contributor to “Golf Magazine,” authored four books and hosts an Emmy-nominated talk show, “Feherty,” on the Golf Channel. In 2016, he moved over to NBC Sports.

Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St., Stamford. Thursday, Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m. $179 (includes meet-and-greet, booksigning at 6:30 p.m.)-$53. 203-325-4466, palacestamford.org
