The Register’s All-County girls golf team for 2018:
FIRST TEAM
Irene Kim, Kennedy, Sr.
The Register’s player of the year.
Isabel Sy, Troy, Jr.
She helped Troy win its first CIF State Championship, posting a 1-over-par 73 to lead the Warriors at Victoria Country Club. She added a 73 and 72 for Troy in the CIF-SS Eastern Team Divisional and the SCGA qualifying tournament, respectively.
Sherilyn Villanueva, Troy, Jr.
She won the CIF-SS Individual Championship, which ended in a two-hole playoff, at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard. She posted a 1-under-par 70.
Chayse Gomez, Rosary, Sr.
She tied for 12th in the CIF State Championships with a 3-over-par 75. She qualified for the prestigious tournament by shooting a 1-over-par 74 to tie for sixth in the SCGA So Cal Championships at Brookside Golf Course.
Jennifer Cai, Sage Hill, Jr.
She tied for fourth in the SCGA So Cal Championships, carding a 1-under-par 72. She was one of the three county golfers to make it to the state tournament as an individual.
Khameryn Utu, Mater Dei, Sr.
She won the Long Beach Invitational for the second consecutive season with a 7-under-par 67. She finished in a tie for seventh at the CIF-SS Individual Finals, shooting a 72. Her team-best round of 74 helped Mater Dei to a second-place finish in the section team championships.
