Floyd Central’s Zoe Hoehn had a breakout sophomore season. She finished third on the team in tournament scoring average (85.29) and led the Highlanders with a fifth-place finish in the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament. Her season was highlighted by a runner-up finish at sectional. She shot an 82 — three shots behind freshman teammate Sophie Cook — at Old Capital Golf Club.
“It was a really good season,” Hoehn said. “I made a lot of progress and our team grew as a whole, it was really fun. I had a career-low [18-hole round] of 81 and that was really nice. It was a lot of fun.”
Hoehn and her teammates hope to continue that fun next fall.
“Our whole team, we really want to make it to state next year,” she said. “But I want to be able to break 80 before the season starts and I just want to improve our whole team and improve my swing individually.”
