The largest number of members in this correspondent’s memory in a Thursday field, 141 out of 147, enjoyed excellent conditions with a  resultant DSR of a consistent 71. Greg Schinck from The National won A Grade with 42 points off his handicap of 14, one better than three players on 41 points with Scott Kennedy and Justin Bennett taking the minor places and Bob Knipler missing out. Richard Easton registered the best score of the day in B Grade with 43 points off his handicap of 19, followed by Troy Beecham on 41 points and Gary Hicks from Gold Creek on 40 points. Grahame Cooke at last returned to form in winning C Grade with 42 points off his handicap of 24, albeit on countback from Norm Watson. Colin Boxsell filled third position with 40 points. The nearest-the-pin winners were Richard Easton on 3, Ian Hamilton on 14 and Russell Naumann on both 9 and 17, while the ball competition went down to 35 points with 18 on the way home.

Another good field of 145 players found conditions a little more difficult with a resultant DSR of a consistent 73. Mitch Jeffery took out A Grade with 38 points off his handicap of 8 on countback from Club Captain Andrew Thompson. Murray Walpole filled third position with 37 points. In B Grade three players tied with 36 points for the countback to decide for Juy Cooper from Moruya off a handicap of 22 aheas of John Hasler and Andrew Vormeulen. Dalmeny Men’s Bowls

Monday’s fine weather saw 32 bowlers on the green where the points system decided the winners on 20½ points and after a countback Pom Kennedy, ex.Banker Jim and Windy Ray came out on top of the runners-up in Clive KV, Peter the Pom and Pat, Ron, Harold or Jim.

Ray scored the first resting toucher but the $136 jackpot didn’t go off. The wrong bias sinner was none other than Ex.PM Neil, while the raffle winners were Roger C-toe, Smokey Dawson, Pete Hit-Holden twice thankfully sending it round again for Mr. Naneless.

Thursday afternoon started out fine but threatening for the 22 bowlers who had to call it a day after a maximum of 14 ends so secret ends decided the winners in Snoopy Roy, Dine-back Brooker and President Pete from the runners-up in Margaret Ponder and Lynne and Ray Endrod with the resting toucher going to Hook-ara Wort. The $280 jackpot was not won but the wrong bias sinners were the lovely pair of Enid and Jack. Prizes in the Marg Ponder run raffle had prizes going to Lynne, John Verr-L, three times and thankfully sending round again for Barbara W, Pete Mur-100 and the organiser herself.

Rain throughout the afternoon and continuing through the evening put paid to any play in Twilight event for the first time this season but weather permitting will be on again next week. It was great to hear that one of our twilight bowlers Rob Groves aka. Steal Forrest was a very lucky fellow fixed up by a very clued-up heart surgeon and will be back amongs us soon with his health ticking over and a pace ahead of the field.

The Friday twilight game is open to all over the age of 12, both male and female, so come along and enjoy two hours of fun, but please get your names down on the sign-up sheets by 4.45pm for the 5.30 start.
