The American Legion Vicente Manzo Post 45 is holding its Al Reyes Memorial Golf Tournament, renamed for the beloved former member and past event organizer.
Reyes, who died in March 2018, was active in Post 45 and veteran activities.
This year’s tournament is set for Saturday, Feb. 23 at San Pedro Golf Course.
Tournament proceeds benefit an array of community endeavors, including scholarship funds for Benson and St. David graduates, Boys State, awards for middle-schoolers at Benson, St. David and Pomerene schools, youth programs and the Post’s general fund. The golf tournament is the Post 45’s primary fundraiser, and typically draws between 100 and 130 players.
With a 9 a.m. shotgun start, the tournament format is a four-person scramble. Cost is $50 per person, which includes the round of golf, a cart, meal and prizes. There also are raffle prizes.
