Man arrested in Archie Bradley stolen golf club case

Scottsdale police on Thursday evening said they arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the theft of Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley’s golf clubs from the Phoenix Open Pro-Am last week.

Andrew J. Burtoni, 32, was arrested near his Mesa residence at about 3 p.m. Thursday, Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Ben Hoster said.

Bradley’s set of PXG golf clubs were stolen on Jan. 30. They were recovered on Jan. 31 in Gilbert, Hoster said.

The department received “numerous tips” that led police to identify Burtoni as a suspect, Hoster said.

Bradley initially tweeted that his clubs were stolen after the event.

Bradley tweeted on Sunday that he was reunited with the clubs four days after they were stolen, but said he couldn’t comment further because of the ongoing investigation.
