ET Golf: Pine Tree’s Twisted 54 Tournament opens today at Wood Hollow | ETVarsity

A new champion will be crowned this weekend at Pine Tree’s 15th annual Twisted 54 Golf Tournament.

Two-time defending champion Edmond (Oklahoma) North is not attending the event, which begins today at Wood Hollow Golf Course in Longview and concludes on Saturday at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.

Teams will play 36 holes today, with a shotgun start slated for 7:50 a.m. at Wood Hollow, and then close things out with 18 holes on Saturday at Pinecrest Country Club.

Coaches can bring six players to the event. All six play 54 holes, but on the first day coaches have to decide which player they want in the medalist spot and his score does not count toward the team score.

After 18 holes, coaches must take a player out and sub in the medalist. The player taken out goes to the medalist spot.

Joining host team Pine Tree in the event will be Carthage, Denton Ryan, Hallsville, Lake Dallas, Liberty Christian, Lindale, Longview, Marshall, Mount Pleasant, New Diana, Norman (Oklahoma), Owasso (Oklahoma), Pleasant Grove, Regents Academy, Rockwall-Heath, Texas High, Trinity School of Texas and Troup.

Pine Tree: Jayden Randall, Kylan Liedtke, Connor Mayeux, Cade Gilliland, Marshall Daugbjerg, Trystan Wharton

Trinity School of Texas: Rhett Sellers, Carter Hill

Longview: Cade Bruce, Forrest Jackson, Wythe Roberts, Charlie Ward, Jonas Lansford
