Menlo junior Gianna Inguagiato needed a few extra holes and turned that into a satisfying victory.
Inguagiato birdied the 21st hole to edge Pleasanton’s Charlotte Ryoo in Sunday’s championship match of the Juli Inkster Flight of the San Francisco City Golf Championship at Harding Park.
Both golfers needed an extra hole to advance from first-round action in the Match Play tournament. Inguagiato edged Carlmont sophomore Viveka Kurup on the 19th hole. Ryoo slipped past San Mateo resident Hannah Sangha.
Inguagiato downed Lowell San Francisco junior Lauren Shew, 4 & 3, to reach the semifinals and then bested Campolindo senior Ashley Pan, 5 & 4, to reach the final round.
On the 21st hole, she hit a 5-iron 175 yards to 2 feet from the pin for a birdie and the win.
