The Panthers received third place honors in Division 2 in the annual “Team Academic All-State” award presented by the Girls Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin. Each Panther received a bronze medal for their team’s third place performance and the school received a certificate recognizing the accomplishment.
Last year, the Panthers received first place honors in the academic awards.
The award is designed to recognize teams with the highest cumulative grade point average.
The Central girls who had the combined academic success to earn this honor are Hannah Schwechler, Brooklyn Mishler, Parker Chladek, Sally Vangsness and Hanna Wehausen. The continued success shows the Panthers’ commitment to their academics is equally as strong as it is to their athletics. Mishler, Chladek and Wehausen were part of the team for both honors, with Schwechler and Vangness receiving the award for the first time.
“I think it really shows how committed our girls our to excelling in all aspects of being a student-athlete. This is something we always talk about at the beginning of the season and make it a goal as a team to do well academically,” said Logan Kimberly, the Panthers’ coach through both of the award-winning seasons.
